Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Guru QR (operated by Chris Murphy, trading as Guru QR, "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The Service

Guru QR lets you create dynamic QR codes, customise their appearance, and view scan analytics. Free accounts may create up to 2 codes. Paid plans unlock more codes, detailed analytics, and additional features as described on the pricing page.

3. QR Code Redirect Policy — Codes Never Stop Working

Your QR codes keep redirecting to their destination regardless of your plan status. Whether your subscription is active, cancelled, or expired — or whether you are on the free plan — your codes will always redirect. This is a core commitment of the service.

What changes with plan status:

  • Active paid plan: Full analytics (per-scan location, device, timeline), editable destination URLs, full dashboard access.
  • Free plan or after cancellation: Codes continue to redirect. Destination URLs are locked (cannot be edited). Detailed per-scan analytics are paused; monthly scan counts continue. Re-subscribing at any time instantly restores full access.
  • Disabled codes (admin action): A code may be disabled if its destination URL is found to host malware, phishing, or other harmful content. Disabled codes show a safe interstitial page instead of redirecting. You will be notified by email if a code is disabled.

4. Service Continuity and Closure

We intend to operate Guru QR indefinitely. However, should we ever decide to close the service:

  • We will give at least 90 days' notice to all registered users by email.
  • We will publish a migration tool or export facility so you can move your redirect destinations to another service before closure.
  • We will not close the service without providing a reasonable migration path.

5. Acceptable Use

You must not use Guru QR to create QR codes that point to:

  • Malware, phishing pages, or other harmful content
  • Illegal content under applicable law
  • Content that harasses, threatens, or abuses individuals
  • Spam or unsolicited commercial messages

We check destinations against Google Safe Browsing on creation and weekly thereafter. Codes pointing to harmful destinations will be disabled without notice.

6. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at support@qrguru.site if you suspect unauthorised access.

7. Payments and Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise recurring charges at the rate shown at checkout. You may cancel at any time via your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of any content (logos, images, URLs) you upload or enter. You grant us a licence to store and process that content to deliver the service. We retain ownership of the Guru QR platform, software, and branding.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Guru QR is provided "as is" without warranty. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before any material change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
